Persimmons are one of our favorite fall fruits here at The Growing Home. Ever since we planted our tree about 20 years ago, we’ve been hooked. If you’re lucky enough to have a tree, you likely have way more persimmons than you can handle right now. No worries though, dehydrating is a great way to save your persimmons long after the season has passed.
Persimmons come in three varieties: Fuyu, Hachiya, and American. For dehydrating, your going to want to use Fuyu. They are still crisp when they’re ripe, and have amazing flavor when grown correctly (read: organically).
